OUT NOW on Bandcamp: Infrequencies - Viva Tío Nan
Infrequencies: Viva Tío Nan is an experimental acoustic collaboration between artists Bob Weber, Scott Ayers, Sonia Flores, Erin Rogers, Sal Velasco and Josh Applebee, that emerged from an improvisational studio session recorded May 11, 2021.
From Bob Weber:
“A request from The POPEBOY Collective for some drum tracks instigated the initial studio session. I invited Sonia Rogers, who I respect highly. Recording Engineer Josh Applebee, whom I'd never met, invited two more players for me. We improvised and recorded the acoustic instruments live.
The first reaction from The Collective was cool. Sonia and I took them to Scott Ayer's studio and fiddled with them for a while.
...life intervened...
Improvising with the drums and bass viol in the spring of 2022, Scott added his guitar sounds. I was curious when he mentioned it, so we met and focused. A simmering in Houston's steamy summer with camaraderie and concentration produced something different than I expected.”
